William Liebeck co-founded Crane Street Capital in 2009 and had been actively investing in private equity for more than 30 years.
Prior to Crane Street, Mr. Liebeck founded the North American office of Englefield Capital, a London based middle market private equity firm. Prior to Englefield, he co-founded Thoma Cressey Equity Partners and led their San Francisco office from 1997-2005. From 1990-1996, he was a Partner at middle market private equity firm Equivest Partners. Prior to that, he was a Partner at Golder Thoma, a Chicago based middle market private equity firm. Mr. Liebeck began his career at IBM, where he held various sales and marketing positions.
Mr. Liebeck received a degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, where he graduated with Greatest Distinction and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
Mr. Liebeck passed away in 2017, while passionately nurturing and supporting our portfolio companies. He will be missed by everyone who worked with him.
